MET Road Trip:
I started my MET journey in spring of 2008. My husband had taken a a position with a company in Northern California, to begin in July. We had investigated work possibilities for me in the US, but it didn't seem possible. I was at a fork in the road. I was not qualified for any jobs listed on the NAFTA agreement (most require a mathematics or science degree). I picked up Professionally Speaking, a magazine produced by the Ontario College of Teachers. Flipping through the pages, I saw ads for teaching in England, Korea and other destinations that had always interested me, as well as an ad for the MET program at UBC. I went online, and discovered it was a completely online program for students living anywhere in the world. It seemed that I had found which path to take!
