MET Program:
After deciding to apply to the MET program, I looked further into what was required for application. I realized that with a three-week practicum in Italy, followed by other obligations, I would not have time to apply to the MET program before the deadline. As a result, I instead applied for the MET Graduate Certificate in Technology-Based Learning for Schools. I wrote my introductory essay and asked for various references from professors at both WLU and NU. Some time after completing the application procedure, I received notification that I had been accepted.
My next step was to look into funding for the program. After some misunderstandings with the university, in September I was informed that the program I was actually in did NOT qualify for OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program). I contacted David Roy, and was quickly switched into the main MET program. I had already applied to be upgraded in January to the main MET program and had paid the application fee, so there was no issue.
Thus, I began the MET program in the fall of 2008. In an attempt to finish the program as quickly as possible, I enrolled in four courses that appealed to me, ETEC511, ETEC512, ETEC522, and ETEC531.
